Coláiste Chilliain is working with Foraois to support Irish in the area and to provide opportunities to our students to use the language outside of school. Foraois is a scheme focusing on developing Irish-speaking communities around Gaelscoileanna and Gaelcholáistí, ensuring that a range of Irish-language programmes and clubs are available to children outside the school gates, within their own local communities.

We would greatly appreciate some initial input from local parents about what is happening in the area and the demand before the programme begins. If you have children attending more than one school, you are welcome to complete the survey more than once. Congratulations to Tighe in First year who came second in the Lenster Track & Field Championships running for the school recently. The very best of luck in the All-Ireland Championship this weekend! 

The Cinnirí Ealaine, Emily and Iseult have worked hard painting the door of the Artroom. They did a huge amount of work, they even came in on a Bank Holiday weekend to make sure this project was finished for the end of the year. The girls took inspiration from the masterpieces on the Leaving Cert Visual Art course. Meagan is very grateful for this artwork as it adds colour to the area. Well done girls!

Guímid gach rath oraibh go léir agus sibh ag tabhairt aghaidh ar an saol mór.

We were both proud and sad to celebrate the 6th years recently. A very special group who created a good atmosphere and spirit in the college. We all enjoyed the awards, the football match against the teachers (which the students won on penalties, unfortunately) and the celebration ceremony. Congratulations to Amy who won Scothscoláire na Bliana agus Niamh who won Gradam Uí Ailín!

We wish you all every success as you take on the world! 

We had two great nights of entertainment and music when the Transition Year students performed Oíche ar an Ardán recently. They have been working hard since the start of the school year and we are very proud of them. They are all stars and we think there will be an Oscar or a Tony presented in the future. Congratulations to all the students, the directors Mairéad, Gráinne, Shauna & Meagan and a massive Thank you to all the teachers who gave them the opportunity, put the show together, lit the stage and helped as well as the audience who supported us (some who bought tickets for both nights as they enjoyed the show that much!!)

We had a brilliant Sports Day today in Coláiste Chilliain. There was a lovely atmosphere, good spirit, kindness, cooperation and fun amongst the students who were competing in a wide range of activities. Congratulations to everyone who took part and enjoyed the day. Thanks to the teachers who were in charge of the competitions during the day and the PE teachers who organised the day especially Múinteoir Lee who put the plan together! 

Maireann croí eadrom i bhfad! 

We are extremely proud of Aoife Ní Churnáin (Bliain 4) who was selected last night to play for Ireland’s U16s Women’s National Basketball Team. Aoife  will travel to Greece in August to represent her country and we wish her the very best of luck.

Buíochas mór leis an mbeirt éascaitheoirí ó Crosscare, Joanne Ward agus Sonya Connolly, a d’oibrigh go dlúth leis na grúpaí sa scoil le dhá bhliain anuas. Bhí ról luachmhar ag a ndúthracht, a dtreoir agus a dtacaíocht leanúnach i bhfás agus i rath an chláir laistigh de Choláiste Chilliain.

Buíochas leis na daltaí uile a ghlac páirt sa chlár go dtí seo. Chuir a rannpháirtíocht, a n-oscailteacht agus a dtiomantas go mór le rath agus forbairt leanúnach an tionscnaimh laistigh de Choláiste Chilliain.

Buíochas le Cathy Martin, Oifigeach Cosc ó Thascfhórsa Drugaí agus Alcóil Chluain Dolcáin, a bhí mar phríomhfhórsa tiomána taobh thiar den tionscadal freisin.

Míle buíochas to the four students who proudly represented Coláiste Chilliain at the official launch of the Clondalkin Prevention Lab today in the Green Isle Hotel.

The Prevention Programme has been running in Coláiste Chilliain for the past two years and continues to go from strength to strength. The programme includes two focus groups: a First Year group, represented today by Daisy Nic Réamoinn and Liana Ní Mhoráin Marsella, and a TY group, represented by Lexie Oglesby and Teagan de Cuirtéis.

Their participation, enthusiasm, and commitment were a credit to the school.

A sincere thank you to the two facilitators from Crosscare, Joanne Ward and Sonya Connolly, who have worked closely with the groups in the school over the past two years. Their dedication, guidance, and continued support have played an invaluable role in the growth and success of the programme within Coláiste Chilliain.

A sincere thank you to all of the students who have participated in the programme to date. Their engagement, openness, and commitment have contributed greatly to the continued success and development of the initiative within Coláiste Chilliain.

A final thanks to Cathy Martin the Prevention Officer from the Clondalkin Drug & Alcohol Task Force CLG who has been the driving force behind the project also.

Tá daltaí na hIdirbhliana ag obair go han-dian ar an gceoldráma, Oíche ar an Árdán agus táimíd an-bródúil astu. 

Táimid ag tnúth leis an cleachtadh an Luan seo chugainn, 4ú Bealtaine, 10.00 -14.00 (de réir an sceidil a foilsíodh níos luaithe sa bhliain).

Tá tinreamh iomlán ríthábhachtach le cleachta rathúil a bheith againn agus iarraimid ar gach dalta a bheith i láthair agus in am.

Mura féidir le dalta freastal ar an gcleachtadh, cuir an scoil ar an eolas a luaithe is gur féidir le bhur dtoil.

Rehearsal:

Our TY students are working very hard on Oíche ar an Árdán and we could not be prouder of them. 

We look forward to seeing them all at the rehearsal this Monday, 4th May 10.00 -14.00 (as per schedule that was published earlier in the year).

Full attendance is imperative to ensure a successful rehearsal, and we ask that students please be on time.

If a student cannot attend rehearsal, please inform the school as soon as possible.
