Treoirchomhairleoireacht – Forbhreathnú
Is cuid lárnach den chlár um Threoir Scoile Uile í an chomhairleoireacht, bíodh treoir phearsanta, treoir oideachasúil, gairmoideachais nó gairm bheatha á lorg. Anseo i gColáiste Chilliain cuirimid “cluas éisteachta” ar fáil ó mhúinteoir ranga ar dtús agus is féidir ábhar a chur faoi bhráid an Treoirchomhairleora nó an Ceann Bliana ansin. Táimid réamhghníomhach freisin nuair a thagann saincheisteanna chun cinn agus baintear úsáid as Cleachtas Aisiríoch chun réiteach a fháil.
Is í aidhm na comhairleoireachta i gColáiste Chilliain ná daltaí a chumasú chun cinntí a dhéanamh, fadhbanna a réiteach, aghaidh a thabhairt ar shaincheisteanna iompraíochta, straitéisí chun déileáil lena saincheisteanna sin a fhorbairt agus deacrachtaí a d’fhéadfadh a bheith ann a réiteach.
Gairmthreoir
Is ábhar lárnach é Gairmthreoir do gach scoláire san Idirbhliain, i mBliain 5 agus i mBliain 6. Tugann sé deis do na scoláirí machnamh a dhéanamh ar an saol mór, ar na scileanna atá acu agus ar na deiseanna a d’fhéadfadh a bheith acu amach anseo. Tá na suíomhanna seo a leanas áisiúil do dhaltaí chun eolas agus treoir a fháil.

Guidance Counselling – Overview
Counselling is an integral part of the Whole School Guidance programme and it covers students who seek personal, educational, vocational or career guidance. Here at Coláiste Chilliain we provide a “listening ear” in the form of a class tutor first and then onto the Guidance Counsellor or the Year Head. We are also proactive when issues arise and may use Restorative Practice to find a solution.
The aim of counselling at Coláiste Chilliain is to enable students to make decisions, solve problems, address behavioural issues, develop strategies to deal with them and resolve potential difficulties.
Career guidance
Career Guidance is a central subject for all students in Transition Year, Year 5 and Year 6.
